Noi Liang (she/her) (MBA, BCPA) is an intersex woman, patient advocate and educator on intersex variations (also known as differences of sex development or DSD).
She strives to connect intersex people and their families to support and education, help the public understand intersex and related concerns, and advocate with the medical community for improvements in patient care.
Since 2012, Noi has been a patient advocate at Children Hospital Colorado, and a member of the interdisciplinary DSD/intersex care team known as the SOAR Clinic. She helps to educate and provide support to patients and families that live with DSD/intersex variations.
Since 2018, she has served on an Intersex/DSD Task Force at the American Psychological Association (APA). The Task Force is charged with reviewing existing work and issues related to DSD and making formal recommendations around future psychosocial care and changes to the APA.
Noi is also involved with several other organizations and projects related to improvements in healthcare and better representation for people with a diversity of sex/gender.
Noi has spoken both independently and as a panelist at events of the North American Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, Society for Pediatric Urologists (SPU), International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health, and National Society of Genetic Counselors. She actively seeks other opportunities to educate and collaborate on issues related to intersex/DSD.
Noi also has over 12 years of business experience in strategic alliances and high-tech marketing (B2B and B2C). Her career has included full-time employment at major corporations like Microsoft and HP.
Noi has lived and worked throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia, and is now based in Colorado.
